The San Francisco Doula Group
is a community of doulas practicing in the Bay Area. Understanding the needs of expectant mothers and their partners, we created sfdoulagroup.com to be a source for referrals of trained and experienced birth and postpartum professionals.
Each doula listed on this site is active in the local birth community,
participates in continuing education, and has agreed to participate in
regular peer review to ensure professionalism, quality of service, and
open communication within the birthing community, and with those we serve.
Every doula on this site understands her role as a non-medical birth and/or
postpartum professional.

have a broad spectrum of experience and training. When interviewing doulas
for birth and/or postpartum work, please ask questions about her experience,
training, any specialties and your anticipated needs. We believe this
will ensure you have a good experience with your doula.
Our group meets monthly for education and peer
support. We invite guest speakers to present their work and share information and helpful tips for our continued education. In the past we've had homeopaths, chiropractors, acupuncturists, herbalists, physical therapists, etc. at our meetings. If you are interested in sharing your work with our group, please email speakers@sfdoulagroup.com. Please indicate whether your topic is relevant to birth, postpartum or both.
